(waving hand in the air) I have the answer! Because you don't have a male perspective! Sheesh...
I(being of the male persuasion) always come away from your strip with a human perspective..(non-gender specific).Hobbes is a tiger, are we always suppose to see his world from the jungle?????
I shared this with a group of geek feminist women - we've been talking about exactly this (among other things) on comic con and university panels over the last couple of years. We've also gotten the objection, "Why don't you have any men on your panels?" more than once. Ahem, men, your perspective is the dominant narrative. Once in a while, it's OK if someone else presents their perspective too. (Also, one of us ended up talking about issues that women face in geek culture on a mixed-gender panel once. The amount of derailment from the men on the panel that day was astounding.)
