Changed Person

When we say we want change, what we mean is we want things to stay the same.

Thanks for reading and sticking around during a period of change and growing pains. Making some headway which I hope will reflect soon.

Appreciate your support on Ko-fi

[Two-panel comic showing a simple illustration of a girl with a braid, reflecting on personal growth. Panel 1 text reads, "I changed a lot...I'm a different person now." In panel 2, a mini-chorus of three figures say in unison, "We prefer the old you, actually." Dismayed, she exclaims, "Oh no - it's irreversible."]

I read somewhere that many family members (see also close friends) will always treat you as if you were the age at which they had most power/influence over you. If like me you suffer from CPTSD, you discover that the people who "helped" you in the past often cannot acknowledge that you have changed and are doing better--because in some way they feel threatened by the new, stronger you.
You go, girl. Keep right on going up into the light.

I honestly believe that some of your friends will see the new you and welcome the change that you welcome. And if I'm wrong, you can use your new strengths to find new friends. And the old ones may come along eventually.

You'll turn to your new friends and say good morning and really mean it.
