People Are Like That

This is so good, and so true! I always have lingering feelings of, for example, how a professor or peer was racist towards me. I can feel it as vividly as if it was just a a few moments ago. But sometimes I struggle to recall exactly what it was that happened, or can only retell the story clumsily and with much effort.

This is why I try my best to remember to help people feel good about themselves.* It makes me feel good, which makes it its own reward.
