The best thing about real love is that it has nothing to do with the media version of "romance." Romance is ephemeral; love is eternal. Romance is exclusive; love is inclusive. Romance is about physical reactions--love is about the spirit. Romance is often self-serving--it's all about "how you make me feel." Love means wanting the best for the other person, whether or not there's "something in it for me."
