Some days, society is a sea monster ;)

Thanks for reading. Connie on Ko-fi

[2-panel comic strip of a cartoon girl in a bathrobe, reflecting on the cosmetics industry and her own self-worth. In panel 1, she's in a bathroom, head in a towel. Caption reads, "Me, hoping to meet someone who likes me without makeup..." In panel 2, a reptilian, mad-eyed, sea monster suddenly reaches out from inside the bathroom mirror and grasps at the girl with taloned claws and hisses, "DON'T TAKE AWAY MY...MAKEUP!!!" She screams in terror. Comic titled "Makeup Monster," by Connie Sun, cartoonconnie, 2023.]

I had to give up on makeup in my 30s because it irritates my skin. I don't miss it. My skin is actually younger looking without all the slap. Go into any cosmetics shop or department store and look at the women who sell that stuff. They often look older than they actually are. I can't be convinced that covering your skin with all that stuff is actually good for it, after all your pores can't breathe.
