I know how frustrating it is because I am living this reality myself now. And I have had more then a few folks say these words for me. But your cartoon had me laughing my butt off, I guess just because I can relate to the frustration.
Oh for mutt's sakes. This is my 3rd go with commenting.I remember hearding that phrase in 2002.If my wiser self could have responded, I said, "No. You had years of socializing and dating in your own less-introspective, less-traumatic teen years. I have never seen a good relationship. Instead of listening to your intermediate-level advice, I'm going to work on myself as a beginner."I should be talking...I'm with the person I love by being frustrated by not having a place to rent and slapping on an ad in craigslist with what i had to offer and what I wanted my potential date to offer.
You know something, I have come to the conclusion that the lucky ones get to fall in love with someone who is crazy about them and experience that. For the rest of us, we still have friends and family and that's awesome and irreplaceable, maybe that's where our luck lies. Or maybe some of us are really lucky being super rich.Anyways, being single is just middle ground, the true bottom is being in a f-ed up relationship where your mind just turns to pulp through conflict :P :DI love you Connie! I think you're an amazing and insightful artist! What a cool person! I would love to grab coffee to hear more about your life, but I'm all the way in Singapore :PKeep happy and keep creating! :)- Your fan
So true, I have had this said to me so many times, especially, "you'll meet someone when you least expect it" but... I'm still waiting! ;)
